Mini-ADHD Assessment
Not ready for the extensive ADHD testing? Want to know whether you might have ADHD
before you commit?
Mini-ADHD assessments are the first step to see if you have enough symptoms of ADHD before committing to the extensive tests.
Do I actually have ADHD?
COMMON PROBLEM: Some folks have worried that they have ADHD but they aren’t sure. Perhaps they are distracted but they don’t know why? Is it anxiety? Is it trauma? Is it actual ADHD?
TRUTH: We can do a mini-assessment to see if you have enough symptoms of ADHD to suspect that you would be diagnosed with ADHD. This gives you a financially helpful way to answer your diagnostic question before making a bigger financial commitment.
ADHD is frustrating.
Undiagnosed ADHD can hold you back leading to poor self-esteem, low school grades, and frustration over the perceived inability to do it all like everyone else. A diagnosis matters because it can help you advocate for yourself and provide you with real-life skills to stay focused and calm.
Your ADHD might lead to:
Low self-esteem about your intelligence or ability in school or work.
Falling behind on work tasks and having a hard time following a to-do list.
Distraction and inability to stay on task for more extended periods of time followed by feelings of overwhelm with how much time you’ve lost.
Fear of timelines for school or work projects and struggling to keep up with assignments, tests, and scheduling demands.
Difficulty articulating your needs verbally with others.
Disconnected relationships because you are distracted and anxious most of the time.
Feedback from your peers, teachers, or colleagues that you have difficulty staying on task and following through with assignments.
Frustration with your own lack of focus.
Needing extra time with assignments and tests in order to perform at your best.
Does this sound like you? Start your mini-ADHD assessment today.
ADHD can feel like:
Obsessive thoughts about something you are interested in.
Frequent distraction or inability to stay on task.
Worry about what others are thinking of you or how they perceive you.
Feeling overwhelmed with the pressures of deadlines for assignments and projects.
Discouragement and self-doubt over “failure” to stay on task and focused.
You might also feel:
Anxiety about school or work relationships.
Panic following a period of distraction and not getting enough work done.
Low self-esteem over the fear of never being successful or getting good grades.
Self-consciousness because others might get frustrated with you because you can’t sit still.
Racing thoughts and inability to focus on tasks that excite you.
Worry that your teachers, bosses, or employers will be disappointed in your performance.
ADHD is a neurological diagnosis, which means that something different is happening in your brain. That difference is not a bad thing but it can feel like a bad thing when you aren’t sure what is happening to you. Did you know that about 8% of children and 2.5% of adults have ADHD? It’s typically identified in school-aged children, but sometimes teachers, parents, and mentors miss it.
The good news? It is easily diagnosable and you can get treatment.
After completing your mini-ADHD assessment, we go over the results with you in a session with your psychologist. The results are written up in an easy-to-understand report. If the results suggest that you might have ADHD, your psychologist will give you options for how to schedule a full ADHD diagnostic assessment. This is the next step in getting the accommodations, extra time, and quiet space you need to perform well at school or work. You can submit the results of the full ADHD evaluation to your school’s Disability Office.
